A Cameron, Illinois Timber Frame Home

This mixed oak frame was fabricated and raised in the spring of 2002. Hammer beam trusses form the dormers and an octagonal boss pin captures the hip and jack rafters above the breakfast area. The owners enjoy the view of their secluded wooded acreage from the vaulted great room. The combination of structural insulated panels and geothermal heat results in the owner's winter energy costs being at least 60% less than a conventionally built home of similar square footage.
