Our collaboration with the Citizen Potowatomi Nation involved the relocation and restoration of the Bourbonnais Cabin, which dates from 1881. Read more about this restoration project in our Archives. Our crew completed the entire cabin restoration, including chinking the logs and all finish carpentry.

The Restoration Process
Finished Photos
Trillium Dell recently finished restoring a cabin built in the style of structures common to Illinois during the 1850s. The installation of new wood windows and cypress siding will give the cabin years of future use and represents a historically accurate upgrade, something sought by the volunteers and Sommer Park board. Go to our Archives to read a Peoria Journal Star article on the cabin restoration, entitled “Nailing the era”. Trillium Dell Timberworks was awarded the contract to restore and relocate the Pop Collins Cabin in Columbia, MO. Trillium Dell dismantled the cabin, bringing some of the logs to the shop for repairs. The cabin roof and floor were in good enough condition to be removed in one piece, and transported to the new site for re-erection. Trillium Dell Timberworks re-erected the cabin at the Nifong Park Site.
