Fall 2008

Timber Frame Home, Streator, IL – This unique home is crafted from locally harvested oak, ash, and walnut. SIPS have been installed and our crew returns to fit up the porch later this fall. Frame drawing and picture shown below.

Knox County Scenic Drive – October 2008 – Trillium Dell demonstrated traditional shingle and peg making, as well as log hewing and layout of pieces for a trebuchet. Hosted by Walnut Grove Farm, this yearly event draws thousands of visitors from the surrounding area and states. Pictured below are scenes from this year’s demonstration.

Timber Frame Home, Evansville, IL – This mixed hardwoods frame was given a hewn appearance and will serve as an addition to a late 19th century brick home. Walnut king posts and book matched hickory rafters highlight the frame.

Residential Timber Trusses, Palos Park, IL – We installed two barrel trusses in the kitchen as well as supplying the contractors with additional interior timber elements.

Barn Restoration and Timber Framers Guild Event – Collinsville, IL – This recently completed barn restoration was a great success. Check out some of the YouTube videos for a bird’s eye view into the process of re-erecting this barn, part of the Willoughby Farm campus .
