Barn Restoration, Annawan, IL – This 30” x 40” timber-frame bank barn most likely dates from the early 1900s, and was completely lifted off its foundation to remove supplemental basement support timbers and I-beams installed in two stages in the 1920s and 1940s at the same time a block wall foundation replaced the original limestone foundation. This supplemental support system was in danger of collapse. New piers were poured at the junction of the carrier and sommer beams where gunstock posts will carry the load.
Residential Timber Trusses, Palos Park, IL – We installed two barrel trusses in the kitchen as well as supplying the contractors with additional interior timber elements.
Historic Window Restoration, Pulaski County Court House, Mounds City, IL – We’ve completed fabrication of new sashes and the restoration of existing sashes. The exterior sides of the sashes have been painted, and the interior sides have received several coats of stain and a clear coat to match the dark and deep-luster of the existing sashes. All sashes have been kerfed to receive concealed weather stripping designed to achieve thermal performance equaling or exceeding those of modern thermal-paned windows when eventually coupled with low-profile aluminum storms windows.
