Pop Collins Cabin Restoration - Columbia, Missouri
Many of these cabins were placed directly on the earth, causing the lower courses to rot over time.
Potawatomi Indian Nation Bourbonnais Log Cabin Restoration - Shawnee, Oklahoma
This 1880s white oak log cabin was nearly identical in design to central Illinois log cabins, which is not surprising given the fact that the Citizen Potawatami Indian Nation (CPIN) was displaced from central Illinois to their current reservation near Shawnee, Oklahoma in the 1870s. This 2400 square foot cabin consisted of an original homestead, a summer kitchen to the rear, and a dogtrot connecting these two sections.
